Police: Man critically injured in Aurora shooting

An 18-year-old man suffered critical injuries over the weekend in a shooting in Aurora, authorities announced on Wednesday.

Aurora police say officers responded at around 2:19 a.m. Sunday to an alley in the 700 block of East New York Street after a resident reported hearing someone screaming for help.

When the officers arrived, they found the 18-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle. Paramedics took the man to a hospital for the treatment of critical injuries, authorities said.

Aurora detectives are investigating. Evidence technicians also responded to the scene.
