Nonprofit’s Des Plaines distribution center thriving thanks to vital business partnership

This month marks one year since Kids Above All opened the doors of its Better Life Distribution Center in Des Plaines.

The 8,000-square-foot warehouse allows the nonprofit to store countless items for children and teens in its care. It also has allowed it to expand its partnership with organizations like Ticket to Dream.

Ticket to Dream partners with companies such as Famous Footwear, Mattress Firm, BEARPAW, Bombas, Title Nine, and more to provide new items to children in foster care.

“Ticket to Dream has been an immeasurable partner for Kids Above All,” said Dan Kotowski, president and CEO of Kids Above All. “The amount of donations we have received for our kids throughout the years has been astounding. Ticket to Dream and the organization’s partners are the unsung heroes of the foster care system who continually forge a path forward so these kids can focus on being kids.”

Since the partnership began, Kids Above All has received more than $200,000 in donations including socks, baby clothes, Crocs, diapers, wipes, ChapStick and makeup wipes. Ticket to Dream’s latest donation will provide $9,000 worth of undergarments courtesy of Victoria’s Secret.

“Ticket to Dream is proud to partner with Kids Above All, supporting their mission of building better lives for children and families impacted by foster care,” said Kayla White, program and impact manager for Ticket to Dream. “Their creativity and innovation in serving their clients and commitment to excellence are why we’re so glad to have them as part of our charity family. We’re so thankful for the impact they are making and look forward to many more years of partnership and life-changing moments ahead.”
