Seigle Foundation awards one-quarter million in arts grants

Seigle Foundation announced the award of $275,000 in grants to the following organizations: Centro de Informacion, African American Coalition of Kane County, Chamber Music on the Fox, Elgin Area Historical Society, Children’s Theatre of Elgin, Elgin Master Chorale, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Hamilton Wings, and Side Street Studio Arts.

These donations support the arts in the Elgin/Dundee area, the geographic focus of the foundation. Other program focus areas are education, food and housing.

Marc Thayer, CEO of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, stated, “We are always very grateful for the support and involvement of the Seigle Foundation which assists the ESO as we continue to expand our reach into the community, offer more educational opportunities, and expand our collaborations with local artists and organizations throughout the Elgin region. We would not be able to present such diverse events and bring the finest musicians to Elgin and surrounding communities without the support of our community and friends of the ESO.”
