Palatine Cubs fan Robert Warren Newren turning 100 years old in April

Robert Warren Newren was born April 28, 1924, in Chicago. He will be turning 100 years old this year. Robert went to Lane Tech High School and graduated in 1942. After graduation he served in the Navy during World War II.

Robert went on to marry June Karyl Meyer. The couple had five children, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-children and growing. He moved in with his daughter Amy and lives in Palatine.

Robert, affectionately known as “Papa” or “Red,” is a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. He loved watching the Cubs win the World Series and celebrated by writing on the wall.

Robert will be celebrating his 100 years at his home in Palatine with family and friends.

Congratulations to Robert for living such a fabulous life and living 100 years around the sun.
