People on the move: New appointees at Duane Morris, NeuroBalance Center

Duane Morris names new managing partner

Duane Morris LLP has appointed Neville M. Bilimoria managing partner of its Chicago office.

Bilimoria succeeds John Robert Weiss, the office’s managing partner since 2018 who is retiring at the end of this month.

“Neville has been with Duane Morris since we opened in Chicago in 1999, and his trajectory as an attorney, author and thought leader is impressive,” said Matthew A. Taylor, chairman and CEO of Duane Morris. “Neville has an assertive, multidisciplinary approach to his practice and will serve as a dynamic, modern law firm office leader. I look forward to watching him successfully guide our Chicago office moving forward.”

Bilimoria advises health care clients on corporate and litigation matters and counsels hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physicians, physician groups, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies on a variety of issues, including health care corporate transactions, health care fraud and abuse, compliance issues, telemedicine and telehealth, HIPAA and state health privacy law issues, regulatory compliance and resulting litigation.

He is chair of Duane Morris’ Physician Services Group and Telehealth Group. He is listed in “Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business,” 2019-2023 editions. Bilimoria’s corporate work includes representation of clients in transactions for the purchase and sale of health care facilities, health clinics and physician practices, as well as counseling on various health care contracting issues. He also is a member of the firm’s multidisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Group, which advises clients on emerging technologies, and the Cannabis Industry Group.

NeuroBalance Center welcomes new executive director

Barrington-based NeuroBalance Center, a facility dedicated to supporting individuals with chronic progressive disorders, autoimmune diseases, and neuromuscular conditions, has appointed Raymond Lapinas as its new executive director, effective March 15.

Lapinas brings a wealth of experience from more than 30 years in finance with major Chicago-area corporations. He has expertise in risk management, operational financial controls, and budgeting. His commitment to advocacy for those with neurological conditions is personal.

Lapinas was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the fall of 2017. He first connected with the center as a participant in its inaugural boxing classes designed specifically for Parkinson’s patients. This firsthand experience with the center's supportive community and exceptional care fueled his dedication to its mission.

“The atmosphere of camaraderie, the quality and attention of the staff, coupled with the outstanding availability of unique equipment provides participants the best opportunity towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle while facing the challenges presented by their medical diagnosis,” Lapinas said.

He previously served on the NeuroBalance Center’s board as secretary since 2018, and more recently, as the director of finance and administration since September 2023.

Lapinas currently serves as vice president of the McHenry County Mental Health Board and has been actively involved in various capacities including board treasurer and chair of the ethics and compliance committee. He also is a key member of the Lithuanian Americans and Allies for Democracy, where he contributes as treasurer.
