Taxes and federal aid
In the March letter to his Long Grove constituents, Village President Bill Jacob referred to Rep. Jan Shakowsky’s recent pork barrel earmark to help fund a local water main project as a “community funding request.” Not quite up there with calling illegal immigrants “newcomers,” but I believe he might have a future in the euphemism community.
As for Rep. Schakowsky, if she would lower herself to vote with the evil MAGA Republicans to reduce our federal taxes, the good people of Long Grove might be able to keep enough of their own money to fund 100% of their village infrastructure projects.
