Our Saviour’s Lutheran invites all to Holy Week and Easter services

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, with two campuses at 815 S. Washington St. and 919 S. Washington St. in Naperville, invites all to its Holy Week and Easter worship and experiences March 24-31.

On Palm Sunday weekend, March 23-24, enjoy a hot cross bun after worship and learn the story and symbolism behind the Lenten treats. Palm Sunday services will be at regular worship times, with traditional worship at 5 p.m. Saturday, and 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday at the 815 S. Washington St. campus (next to Edward Hospital), and contemporary worship at 10 a.m. Sunday at Celebration Community Life Center at 919 S. Washington St.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at 815 S. Washington, Our Saviour’s will host a Maundy Thursday service commemorating Jesus’s Last Supper with his disciples.

Families with young children are invited on Good Friday, March 29, to participate in CrossWalk, an indoor event that incorporates music and crafts to share the story of Holy Week. CrossWalk will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Our Savior Campus. Additionally, a traditional Good Friday worship service will be held at the Our Saviour’s Campus at 7 p.m. March 29.

A special Saturday Easter vigil that begins with an outdoor bonfire and proceeds indoors will take place at the Our Saviour’s Campus at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30.

On Sunday, March 31, Our Saviour’s will welcome Easter celebrants with multiple services at both campuses: 6:15 and 10:15 a.m. at the Celebration campus, 919 S. Washington, and 7:30, 9 and 11:30 a.m. at the Our Savior campus, 815 S. Washington.

An outdoor Easter egg hunt will follow after the 9 and 10:15 a.m. services.

Our Saviour’s Lenten theme for 2024 is “Who We Are and Whose We Are,” exploring concepts of identity both as individuals named and claimed in baptism and as a congregation that is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

All are welcome to explore these ideas at Our Saviour’s and to celebrate the victory of love and life over death that Easter represents. For more information, visit www.oursaviours.com or call (630) 355-2522.
