Letter writer Daniel Sobczyk might be interested to know that Mercedes Benz manufactures Sprinter and Metris vans at their plant in Ladson, South Carolina. According to quora.com, the US plant where the USPS vans are made is owned by Mercedes-Benz LLC (a US registered company) and is located in Charleston, South Carolina. Apparently, they make one of the very few right-hand drive vans available in the U.S.
