Seth Hildebrandt earns Eagle rank

Seth Hildebrandt earned the rank of Eagle Scout in February of 2024.

The Eagle Scout badge, the highest rank in BSA Scouts, is widely recognized as a mark of distinction both within and outside of Scouting. Once earned, it is worn for life.

A member of Palatine BSA Scout Troop 209’s Blazing Osprey patrol, Seth attended his first troop campout at Camp Dan Beard in April of 2018. He quickly determined that he enjoyed camping and continued this favorite activity for years to come. Seth’s favorite campouts were Mystery Trips to St. Louis and the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. He also attended summer camp multiple times at both Camp Napowan and Owasippe Scout Reservation.

Seth was a member of Troop 209’s 2023 Philmont Crew where he enjoyed the adventure of hiking and camping in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, as well as participating in cowboy action shooting, black powder shooting and tomahawk throwing activities with his crew.

Seth has held numerous leadership positions as he progressed toward his goal of achieving Eagle. These included senior patrol leader, troop guide, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, camp master, historian, and Order of the Arrow unit representative.

Of the 31 merit badges Seth earned, his favorite was Metal Working. Seth has positively impacted many young Scouts as he progressed on the trail to earning the Eagle Rank.
