Unlicensed Naperville massage therapist charged with battery of client

Naperville police have charged an unlicensed massage therapist with battery after a client reported the man “made unwanted contact of a sexual nature.”

Police arrested 35-year-old Austin J. Arianoutsos last Friday after a complaint was filed in the wake of a Jan. 5 incident at YangRising Health & Wellness spa owned by Arianoutsos in downtown Naperville.

Arianoutsos is also facing charges of disorderly conduct as well as practicing massage therapy without a license after police learned the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation had revoked his license in 2022 for similar behavior.

In the IDFPR report, Arianoutsos was placed on “refuse to renew” status “as result of unprofessional conduct associated with unprofessional and immoral conduct as exhibited by sexual misconduct during the course of providing massage for compensation services to a client.”

Arianoutsos had been practicing massage therapy since 2009, according to state records.

His next court date is slated for April 18.
