Remember who has power to end Gaza war

I must admit I am having trouble understanding the Free Palestine movement. I do feel for the carnage and famine. However, I believe many forgot how this all began.

On a peaceful morning, Hamas, the governing force of Palestine, came in and slaughtered, tortured. Raped, killed and took hostages. Israel attacked back. Should they not have?

When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, we attacked back and killed and maimed many of their citizens.

Russia is invading and destroying innocents in Ukraine. I do not see the same push back there.

I am a humanitarian. I hate war. I hate innocents being collateral damage.

The Hamas soldiers seem to have enough resources for food and arms. Could they not help end this war by returning the innocent hostages and putting down their weapons? Could they not help their own citizens with food and water instead of using them as human shields?

I think we need to remember how this began. And who really has the power to end it.
