Learn to cope with life’s major changes at April 4 program

Life changes occur daily but a major change — like buying a new home, graduating, starting a new job or welcoming a new family member — can make you feel as if you’re facing a threatening tidal wave.

Learn how to handle such situations by attending “Life Transitions: Riding the Waves of Change,” a program that will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the gym of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Nancy Kratz, Ph.D., wellness and ministry coordinator at St. Thomas the Apostle, will discuss how we cope with change in her workshop, helping those attending recognize stages of transition, how to navigate these stages successfully, and finally embrace a new beginning.

Kratz has been a licensed psychologist for over 20 years and brings a lifetime of experience with transitions, both her own and those of clients.

Registration for “Life Transitions” is strongly encouraged by Monday, April 1, and may be made by contacting Susan Kearney, behavioral health coordinator at St. Thomas, at sdkearney@comcast.net or (630) 355-8980, ext. 108. Walks-ins also are welcome and freewill offerings will be accepted at the door.

Further information about “Life Transitions,” or the behavioral health ministry itself, also is available by contacting Kearney.
