Experience makes difference for Congress
In Russell Lissau’s Feb. 27 article on the Democratic candidates for the Illinois 6th Congressional District representative, and their interview by DH editors, the candidates are quizzed on the key issues.
It seems to me to be little difference between six-year Rep. Sean Casten and neophyte Mahnoor Ahmad on their goals and their motivations. Yet there IS a significant difference.
The difference is their political skills and attention to details to achieve their common goals. It is important to have a representative who is not only aligned with the desired outcomes but also possesses the foresight and diligence to navigate the intricate details of policymaking.
This difference was illustrated time and again during the hour-long interview of the candidates, and it would be well worth your time to listen to it in its entirety. You can access the tape near the middle of Lissau’s article at www.dailyherald.com.
