DuPage Children’s Museum welcomes new board member

Naperville resident Laura Anderson is the newest member of the DuPage Children’s Museum board of directors.

Anderson serves as chief financial officer and treasurer for the Big Ten Conference. Before joining the Big Ten Conference, Anderson headed up operational activities of ESI Consultants in Naperville.

Anderson also has served as board president for the Junior League of Chicago, a 1,500-member women’s organization that focuses on empowering at-risk families. She also has volunteered at Hesed House, Morton Arboretum and her children’s schools in Naperville.

In a news release, Anderson said she brought her children to the museum to play and has seen the benefits of the museum for children and parents. She also said she was impressed with the museum’s efforts to reach out to underrepresented communities and its work with educators.

“The museum team shows passion for playful learning in a variety of settings,” she said.

DuPage Children’s Museum President and CEO Andrea Ingram said Anderson’s leadership and business experience will fill identified needs on the board.

“She has a history of serving nonprofit boards with integrity, accountability and transparency,” Ingram said in a news release. “We are thrilled to have her passion and skills championing our work and its impact.”
