$5.6 million for water main, street work in Lake Zurich
Lake Zurich will be investing more than $5.63 million this season for water main work and road resurfacing.
Village officials this week approved an agreement with PirTano Construction Company of Addison for the work, which will be paid for from the non-home rule sales taxes and water and sewer funds.
The total not-to-exceed amount includes a base bid of $4.9 million and $734,502 for contingency, engineering and material testing.
Work this year includes replacing 1,500 feet of water main on the south side of Route 22; 1,900 feet of water main on the south side of Route 12; 3,500 feet of water main and resurfacing several streets in the Cedar Creek neighborhood; and, resurfacing all of Golfview Road.
“There is a lot this year,” said Public Works Director Michael Brown.
