Northwestern Mutual-Chicago promotes Carrie Merritt to director of Internship and New Career Development

Northwestern Mutual-Chicago has announced the promotion of Carrie Merritt to the role of director of internship and new career development with the financial planning firm.

McQuade, managing partner at Northwestern Mutual-Chicago. “Carrie is a collaborative leader who is passionate about transforming aspiring young professionals into advisers who lead client relationships and financial planning teams.”

Merritt joined Northwestern Mutual-Chicago in 2023 as director of Internship Development, responsible for the vision and strategic execution of the firm’s nationally recognized program. In her new role, she will continue to lead the college program while also guiding the firm’s career development programs for the next generation of financial professionals.

Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual-Chicago, Merritt honed her strategic and marketing skills as a consultant to major Chicago-based organizations and as a mentor for MBA students.

Merritt earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.
