BADC invites nominations for 2024 Citizen of the Year Award

The Barrington Area Development Council (BADC), a nonprofit sponsoring initiatives and organizations that benefit the Barrington area, is excited to invite nominations for its 2024 Citizen of the Year Award.

Each year, BADC selects a local resident who has shown exemplary leadership and contribution to the greater Barrington area through their volunteer efforts. This year’s winner will be the 50th Citizen of the Year

recipient.

Nominations can be submitted at https://www.barringtonareadevelopmentcouncil.org. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, April 13, 2024.

The BADC Citizen of the Year Committee will select the winner from nominees volunteering within, but not limited to, diverse fields such as work with youth, public service, philanthropy, health care, conservation,

preservation, education, transportation and more.

Recent award winners include Penny Kazmier (2023), Rev. Dr. Zina Jacque (2022), Barbara Benson (2021), and Brian Battle (2020). These individuals join a very prestigious list of 49 total Citizen of the Year recipients. More

The Citizen of the Year recipient will be announced at the BADC annual dinner on Wednesday, May 15, at Makray Memorial Golf Club. This event not only celebrates the 50th award recipient but also serves as a gathering of philanthropic and community-minded individuals. BADC looks forward to honoring an individual who truly makes a difference in the Barrington area and encourages all to participate in the nominations process.
