Batavia District 101, Suicide Prevention Services of America to host program on mental health

Suicide Prevention Services of America in Batavia is partnering with Batavia Unit District 101 to host a presentation on mental health on Wednesday, March 13. It will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rosalie Jones Administration Center, 335 W. Wilson St. in Batavia.

Stephanie Dewinski, associate executive director at Suicide Prevention Services of America-Batavia, and Natalie Assell, the district’s director of student services, will discuss and break down myths and statistics about suicide.

They will discuss warning signs and risk factors for suicide, as well as steps you can take to help someone thinking of suicide and ways to connect them to supportive resources.

Dewinski is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist who has a passion for working with youth. In her role, she also provides school and community education on the topics of mental health and suicide.
