Fire damages retail shop near Fox Valley Mall in Aurora
The Aurora Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire in a retail center near Fox Valley Mall.
Firefighters were dispatched around 10 p.m. Wednesday to the 4300 block of Fox Valley Center Drive. An employee inside the store called 911 and advised they were able to evacuate the store. In addition, the store’s alarm monitoring company contacted the city’s dispatch center about the fire.
When firefighters arrived, they noticed light smoke in the shop. They discovered a fire in the rear of the unit near a loading dock. The shop’s sprinkler system was activated, and firefighters were used a hand water pump can to put out the fire.
No one was injured in the fire.
