Hanover Township to offer free wellness screenings for veterans

Hanover Township will offer free health screenings for veterans on Friday, March 15, at the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park.

Beginning at 10 a.m. and running through 2 p.m., township veterans and their spouses can receive a variety of screenings, including:

• Blood glucose (diabetes)

• Hemoglobin (anemia)

• Blood pressure

• Heart rate

• Total cholesterol

“This is a great opportunity for our veterans not only to receive the screenings, but to also talk with the township nurses about other health services, and staff about filing veterans claims,” said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township Supervisor. “Whether you are a veteran who visits the township regularly, or a vet that has not yet had the chance to stop in, these free screenings are open to all who have served.”

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended. Sharps disposal also will be offered.

For questions, or to schedule an appointment, call the township at (630) 540-9085 or email info@hanover-township.org.
