How to send get-well wishes to Dax

Dax, the Lake County sheriff’s police dog injured Sunday during the apprehension of a fleeing suspect, remains under the care of a veterinarian.

As the exact nature and extent of his injury is evaluated, the situation has been upsetting for Dax’s handler and his family. Words of well wishes would be welcome.

Get-well notes should be sent to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, 25 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085, to the attention of Deputy John Forlenza.
