Naperville Woman’s Club’s Fine Art & Artisan Fair set for June 29-30 at Naper Settlement

In this day of imports, mass reproduction and artificial intelligence it is refreshing to find an event that supports the unique works of artists and artisans.

For 64 years, the Naperville Woman’s Club volunteers have sponsored a juried art fair free to the public.

And once again this year it will be held on the historic grounds of the Naper Settlement.

More than 100 artists from around the country will be displaying their wares in painting, drawing, photography, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, wood, glass, metal and ceramics.

The Naperville Woman’s Club wants to promote art in all areas including music. Attendees can enjoy chamber music from local young musicians to seasoned performers. Children can express their painting creativity at the Petite Picasso area.

Plus there will be photo opportunities to become part of a painting masterpiece. But the biggest interactive experience is the mural.

Again this year, the Naperville Woman’s Club will select a painting from one of the exhibitors that will be reproduced into an 8- by 12-foot mural.

Attendees of all ages and skill levels can contribute to this by duplicating their own 8- by 8-inch painted square that will be stapled to a wood frame.

Over the two-day event, all 216 squares will create the 8- by 12-foot mural.

The 64th annual Fine Art & Artisan Fair will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 29-30, at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St. in Naperville.

Attendees can also enjoy food and adult beverages. Only documented service animals are allowed on the site. No food, alcohol or weapons can be brought into the fair.
