How to help families displaced by Mundelein roof collapse
Efforts continue to assist more than 50 Mundelein residents displaced last week after a storm severely damaged an apartment building.
The building, located in Mundelein High School District 120 and Hawthorn Elementary District 73, will be uninhabitable for an extended time.
Nonperishable foods, new or gently used clothing and toiletries can be dropped off at the welcome center, 1500 W. Hawley St., adjacent to Mundelein High School. Gift cards for stores like Walmart, Target, Aldi and Jewel also are being accepted.
