Prospect Heights District 23 celebrates Leap Day at the first D23 PTO Family Library Night at Prospect Heights Public Library

Prospect Heights School District 23 celebrated Leap Day at the Prospect Heights Public Library with a fun-filled alien theme night. This marked the first District 23 PTO Family Library Night at the Prospect Heights Public Library.

Students traveled to five stations which included decorating a cookie, making a magnet, creating a unique alien craft and attending storytime with reader and District 23 Superintendent Don Angelaccio.

Eisenhower Elementary Principal Luke Lambatos, Betsy Ross Principal Stephanie Gage and Anne Sullivan Principal Traci Meziere along with District 23 director of Technology, Chris Alms, assisted students at stations along with many volunteers and library staff while District 23 Assistant Superintendent Craig Curtis greeted families at the entrance.

The event also gave District 23 families a chance to celebrate Leap Day while learning about the resources the library has to offer at the “Library of Things” station where students guessed which items were checked out the most.

District 23 PTO vice president, Lisa Moore, and Prospect Heights Public Library Youth Services librarian and school liaison, Alice Bisanz, coordinated the event and were thrilled to have over 250 attendees.
