Fire damages garage, vehicles in Mundelein

No injuries were reported after fire engulfed a garage and multiple vehicles Sunday in Mundelein, authorities said.

Mundelein Fire Department officials said firefighters were called to the scene in the 0-100 block of North Idlewild Avenue at about 3:13 p.m. They arrived about 4⅟₂ minutes later to find a detached three-vehicle garage fully in flames, officials said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes, but remained on the scene longer to conduct overhaul operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no damage estimate was available Monday.

Mundelein firefighters were assisted on the scene by firefighters from the Countryside, Libertyville, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Lake Zurich, Grayslake and Round Lake fire departments.
