Local Sierra Club supports Foster

Bill Foster has been our congressman in the 14th and 11th Districts since 2008. In those 16 years he has sponsored 238 bills, co-sponsored 2,266 and has voted in the House of Representatives thousands of times. With every vote, Bill proves his values and his courage to promote and protect our jobs, our unions, women’s rights, the climate and healthcare.

Bill has a strong record of creating jobs and promoting the cause of labor unions. He pushed for the agreement between Stellantis and the United Auto Workers to reopen the closed auto plant in Belvidere, Illinois. Thousands of jobs will be saved or newly created. The deal includes future EV (electrical vehicle) and battery production, a win for the environment and for keeping the plant thriving for future generations. The UAW endorses Bill.

Bill has always supported a woman’s right to make decisions over her own body. He is now working to pass a federal law that ensures a woman’s access to reproductive healthcare.

Bill Foster is a climate champion. Bill has a 95% voting record with the League of Conservation Voters. Sierra Club of Illinois is proud to endorse Bill.

Bill is protecting our rights to healthcare. He helped to get the $35 cap on insulin prices and is working to get Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices.
