Lake County man charged in overdose death of Antioch teenager

A 20-year-old Lake County man is charged with drug-induced homicide in connection with the overdose death of an Antioch teenager last year.

Antioch police said Jack Foley, who lives in an unincorporated part of Lake County in Antioch Township, supplied a 17-year-old Antioch boy with “counterfeit opioid pills that were laced with fentanyl” sometime in early 2023.

The teenager consumed the pills and died at a home on the 400 block of Route 173 Feb. 11, 2023.

Following a nearly yearlong investigation, Foley was arrested earlier this week after a warrant was issued Feb. 22, police officials said.

In addition to the homicide charge, Foley is also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, also a felony.
