DuPage County Board Dist. 4: LaPlante

Democrat Lynn LaPlante is seeking another term in her District 4 seat on the DuPage County Board.

But Christine Maes, a Democrat from Glendale Heights, is challenging her to try to become their party’s nominee in November. District 4 includes Glendale Heights, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton.

LaPlante, a two-term incumbent from Glen Ellyn, has sought to pursue several initiatives in the county. She has, for example, suggested the county fairgrounds in Wheaton would be an ideal location for an arts venue for music and concerts to help fuel tourism. In addition, she identifies food insecurity and affordable housing as issues the county must address.

Maes says she is running because she wants to serve as a voice for residents in District 4. She also identifies public safety as one of her top priorities. But Maes is vague about what programs and initiatives she would pursue as a county board member.

So, while Maes is enthusiastic about serving the community, LaPlante is an experienced county board member with specific goals she hopes to accomplish.

LaPlante is endorsed.
