Fire damages Aurora business

An Aurora business was left uninhabitable after a fire earlier this week, authorities said.

Firefighters were alerted to a blaze in a commercial building in the 1000 block of Grace Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Flames and smoke were seen in the area on the city’s far south side.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the northeast corner of the building. Officials determined there were no employees inside the facility.

The fire was brought under control within an hour. It remains under investigation.
