2% is NATO guideline

The 2% of GDP for NATO is a guideline, not a requirement. Countries pay what they can based on circumstances happening in their country. Some countries pay more. Poland has paid 4%.

We must continue to defend democracy. Putin will not give up. He will never negotiate in good faith. He is a dictator and former KGB agent who murders his opponents. Putin wants to take back all of the former USSR. If he invades a NATO nation, the U.S. is obligated to send in troops per Article 5 of the NATO treaty. Better to send funding now rather than our troops later.

The only time Article 5 was invoked was when NATO came to our aid after 9/11. Since 1949, every president since Truman (except Trump) has supported NATO.

We must support our allies.

It’s time for Republicans to be on the correct side of history. Support America and our allies, not Putin and Russia.
