Kane DuPage Soil & Water Conservation District elects three to the board

Constituents in two counties cast their votes for three director positions on Feb. 8 at the Kane DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District office in St. Charles.

Of the six candidates vying for these director positions this year, Melinda Bossenga, Tom Konen and Jera Piper prevailed.

Serving as a director on the Soil & Water Conservation District board is a privilege, as well as an opportunity to serve on a local public body that makes decisions and creates programs regarding natural resource conservation in Kane and DuPage counties.

The 2024 board of directors will take their seats at the March board meeting and the officers will be determined.

The Kane DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District is here to assist residents, landowners, and businesses in Kane and DuPage counties in Illinois.

Its mission is to support residents’ quality of life by leading efforts to ensure healthy soil, clean water, sustainable land development and regenerative agriculture. More information can be found at the website, kanedupageswcd.org/kd/.
