CLC’s spring music concerts include Jeff Coffin at ‘Art of Jazz’

College of Lake County’s spring music concerts begin in March. Grammy Award winner Jeff Coffin will be the guest artist at the 47th annual “Art of Jazz” concert series on Sunday, March 10.

Coffin is a globally celebrated saxophonist, composer and educator. He is recognized for his breathtaking and enigmatic compositions and searing improvisations. He is a member of the legendary rock group Dave Matthews Band and had a 14-year tenure with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

There will be a free masterclass with Coffin 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 in room P101 at the Grayslake Campus.

“CLC’s annual “Art of Jazz” concert is always fantastic, and they’ve raised the bar with the announcement that Jeff Coffin will join the group as this year’s featured guest,” JLC Executive Director Alisa Baum said. “Students getting the chance to play on stage with such an amazing artist is one of the things that makes the CLC music program so extraordinary.”
