Two planned Des Plaines restaurants get city grants for improvements

A pair of restaurants coming to Des Plaines have been awarded grants to help pay for necessary remodeling and other improvements.

The city council on Tuesday approved a $100,000 grant for Brunch City Cafe, 901 E. Oakton St. It also approved a $45,000 grant for Que Bola Cuban Café, 1940 E. Touhy Ave.

The funds will come from Des Plaines’ business assistance program, which covers up to half the cost of improvements for qualifying businesses. Money is delivered after the work is done.
