Palatine Township providing Easter baskets to kids in need

Palatine Township is seeking participants for its annual program that provides Easter baskets to financially disadvantaged children, ages 12 years and younger, in the community.

Last year, the township provided baskets to more than 860 children.

Those who wish to participate this year can visit the township office, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine, and pick out a bunny, chick, or egg cut-out which includes a child’s first name, age, gender and assigned number. Or sign up online at http://tinyurl.com/ywfcwthk. If you register online, you will be contacted via email and provided the necessary information after March 1.

Participants then create a basket with items such as edible treats, small toys, games, hair accessories, puzzles and books. The value of the basket and its contents should be about $25. All edible items must be in original packaging. Wrap the basket in cellophane or another transparent material, include a label with the child’s name and assigned number and deliver to the township office by March 19.
