How to register for DuPage forest preserve summer camps

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will offer more than a dozen summer camps for kids to get outside and explore nature.

Families living in DuPage can sign up their children for camps through early-bird registration. Registration for nonresidents opens March 1.

The “Habitat Hunters” camp will teach kids heading to first and second grades next school year about the plants and animals of woodlands, prairies and wetlands. Incoming fifth- and six-graders can get hands-on experience with horses and stable chores at the Danada Equestrian Center in Wheaton. Other camps give kayaking lessons at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve near Downers Grove.

Half-day camps are $175 for DuPage residents and $200 for nonresidents. Most full-day camps are $275 for DuPage residents and $320 for nonresidents. To register, visit dupageforest.org/camps.
