St. Thomas the Apostle Church schedules refresher, renewal event March 4-5

Spring will be arriving soon and, in anticipation of its coming, “Refreshing Connections — What Are You Thirsting For?” will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road in Naperville.

Subtitled a “Renewal Event,” the program recognizes how difficult recent years have been. Relatively few people have escaped feelings of isolation and alienation and fraying relationships … in short, both the physical and spiritual challenges of survival during tough times. And the idea of renewal presents a perfect opportunity to renew and deepen relationships with God, family, community, and the wider world of nature and all creation.

Both evenings of “Refreshing Connections” will include prayer, a reflection and a choice of two breakout sessions. Attendance at one or both evenings is welcome.

Tuesday evening’s breakout sessions are: “Prayer”; “Family Values/Habits”; “Catholic Social Teaching”; and “Respecting Creation.”

Wednesday evening’s sessions are: “Scripture”; “Faith at Home (the Domestic Church”; “Social Justice Outreach”; and “Practical Action for Creation.”

While walk-ins for either or both evening sessions are welcome, preregistration is highly encouraged to ensure adequate seating is available. Preregistration is required if child care, available both evenings, is needed.

Preregistration will be accepted at REAdmin@stapostle.org or (630) 355-8980, ext. 118, through Friday, March 1.
