DuPage Juvenile Officers Association offers scholarship

The DuPage Juvenile Officers Association, the largest association of juvenile officers and youth workers in the state of Illinois, announced that it will award up to a $1,000.00 college scholarship this year.

Applicants must be residents of DuPage County planning to seek a career in law enforcement or youth services (this does not include education majors) upon graduation.

The student should be attending a college or university by September 2024 and majoring in a field related to law enforcement or youth social services.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants should submit an application to the DuPage Juvenile Officers Association, Scholarships, P.O. Box 416, Wheaton, IL 60187, postmarked no later than April 1, 2024.

The application also can be emailed to association board member Dorothy Weihofen at dweihofen@warrenville.il.us.

The application can be obtained at DuPage County high schools and colleges or at the DJOA website, www.dupagejuvenileofficers.com.

The application should include a letter of recommendation, a personal letter setting forth the applicant’s reasons for applying, why they wish to pursue a career working with juveniles and plans for the future along with a transcript of grades and a letter of acceptance from the college the applicant will be attending in the fall.
