Skyview: Wing Park Golf Course frowns at winter weather

If you squint just right when you look at this drone photo of winter at Wing Park Golf Course in Elgin you can almost see a sad face waiting for spring to return.

At least that’s the way I see it. What do you think?

Two of the course’s greens act as the sad eyes sitting above the slight frown that the park road adds to complete the frowning face.

With the warmer temperatures that we have seen during the last part of January and beginning of February I am sure that many golfers have had the urge to get out on the course sooner rather than later. Spring and the return of will be her soon, I hope.

Wing Park Golf Course is the oldest nine-hole municipal golf course in Illinois.

The course was constructed during first few years of the 1900s and was named after William H. Wing, who donated the land for a park in 1902.

The classic nine-hole golf course was established in 1908.
