Glen Ellyn Historical Society to host lecture on the Great Migration

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society is presenting a lecture called “The Great Migration and The Great War” later this month.

Historian and musician Clarence Goodman will discuss how the African American population gravitated toward the industrial North and away from the Jim Crow South. Goodman also will examine how President Woodrow Wilson struggled his way around the looming crisis in Europe.

The program will begin 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.
