Antioch gears up for inaugural Shamrock Shuffle Family Fun 5K Run/Walk on March 16, 2024

Registration is underway for the village of Antioch’s inaugural Shamrock Shuffle Family Fun 5K Run/Walk. The newest family-friendly village event is set to take place on Saturday, March 16, at the Tim Osmond Sports Complex, 38 Depot St, Antioch. This community event will kick off the unofficial start of Spring: St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The 5K route will accommodate both seasoned runners and those looking for a leisurely walk with friends and family. The racecourse offers an inclusive and enjoyable experience for participants of all ages. Additionally, the event will feature post-race festivities, including relay races and other fun events for kids, live music from the School of Rock, and a race day Irish pub with food and beverage options including smoked corned beef sandwiches and cold beer.

The Tim Osmond Sports Complex, known for its picturesque surroundings, will serve as the backdrop for this fun family activity. Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner said the Shamrock Shuffle will be a fun day for anyone who wants to kick off the start of the Chicagoland running season, plus anyone else who just wants to come out to watch and have fun.

“We are excited to roll out another family-friendly event showcasing the beauty of our community,” Mayor Gartner said. “The Shamrock Shuffle offers a day filled with fun for residents and visitors to our town. Plus, you don’t have to be a runner to participate in the festivities!”
