How you can help needy families in Des Plaines

The Self-Help Closet & Pantry in Des Plaines is seeking donations of pasta sauce, sugar, flour, oil and other kitchen basics.

Winter clothes, T-shirts, gym shoes, boots, hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants and children's clothing also are needed.

Items can be dropped off Mondays and Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and noon and Saturdays between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. The pantry is at 769 Holiday Lane.
