Call for artists for Naperville Art League’s Public Art Competition

Artists from Naperville and surrounding communities can submit pieces for the Naperville Art League’s annual Public Art Competition by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.

One entry is allowed per person under the theme “Perfect Imperfection.”

The piece must be original in design, concept, and execution. It can be any media or mixed-media, and either 2D or 3D. Size restrictions apply.

All entries will be on display and open to the public for viewing April 30 through May 24 at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center St., Naperville, IL 60563.

An awards presentation with cash prizes will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, during the artists reception from 6 to 8 p.m.

Two age categories for entries are high school/college age and adult. Cash prizes will be awarded for best of show ($300) and awards of excellence ($100). Honorable mentions will receive an award card. Winners will be publicized.

The entry fee is $30 for nonmembers and $15 for Naperville Art League members. Entries must be accompanied by the entry form and an artist’s statement.

Naperville Art League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides art instruction and education, encourages all forms of creative art, and works to stimulate understanding and appreciation of art in the community.

The art league offers art classes for all ages, has monthly gallery shows, and plans/hosts the annual outdoor Riverwalk Fine Art Fair held in September in downtown Naperville.
