Suburban Sprawl recognizes a Big Ten freshman on the rise

It wasn’t hard to find news about Minnesota guard Cam Christie this week. The Rolling Meadows grad was named Big Ten freshman of the week, then scored 19 points in a victory over Michigan State on Tuesday.

Christie has averaged 17 points and 6.7 rebounds in the past three games, all Gophers victories. His older brother, Max, played at Michigan State two years ago, so the latest win had extra meaning.

New play-caller in town

Wheaton Warrenville South grad Tim Lester shared some thoughts, now that he’s the new offensive coordinator at Iowa. Lester was previously head coach at Western Michigan.
