Big Band show at Palatine’s Durty Nellie’s moved to Feb. 18; Fremd band special guest

The 17-piece Jazz Consortium Big Band, now in its 13th year as a monthly fixture at Durty Nellie’s Gastropub & Entertainment Hub in Palatine, is moving its February show to Feb. 18 from Feb. 11, to make way for the Super Bowl.

Special guest Fremd High School Jazz Ensemble will play from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Jazz Consortium. All ages are welcome.

Cover begins at 6:30 p.m.: $10 cash or $5 for students 17 and younger. Seating is limited, so reservations are suggested at (847) 358-9150.

Durty Nellie’s is at 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. For information, nelliespalatine.com.

“There have only been a handful of times we’ve had to move our performance in the 12 plus years we’ve been at Nellie’s,” observed bandleader Roy Vombrack. “We normally play on the second Sunday every month, but it’s hard to compete with the Super Bowl. So just for February, we’re moving to the third Sunday at Nellie’s, so people don’t have to choose between watching us or watching the big game.”
