2024 Palatine Jaycee board looks to ‘Own It’ this year

The Palatine Jaycees are looking to 2024 with new leadership and a renewed sense of pride in their work. 2023’s “Dare to Dream” year was highlighted by some truly wonderful events and one of the biggest Hometown Fests in recent memory.

The Palatine based chapter held its year end banquet at The Cotillion, where it recognized several of its members contributions to the organization. They then made the journey south to Bloomington-Normal for the Illinois Jaycees Year-End General Assembly, where the group was recognized along with several other chapters from the state for its work.

Megan O’Brien will now transfer from president to chairwoman of the board, while newly elected President Jenny Levin is making the chapter “Own It” (the organizational slogan for this year). Levin is committed to focusing on membership growth and retention so that the Palatine Jaycees can continue to provide for the community and strengthen its members leadership abilities. Levin’s slogan is designed to empower each member to take projects and make them their own.

Also elected into office were Rick Tracy, administrative vice president; Casey Siani, chapter management vice president; Meriel Loquasto, community vice president; Paul Murphy, individual development vice president; Ryan McGaughey, membership vice president; Michael Quevillon, state director; Becky Adamson, secretary; and Megan McGaughey, treasurer. The board will have two local directors, a position that ensures effective communication between the chapter and the board. The local directors this year are Brian Beaudette and Mick Fleming.

Since 1957, the Palatine Jaycees has been a group of active young adults (ages 21-40) providing leadership development and community service opportunities to its members. Involvement in the Palatine Jaycees is a great way to meet new people, build new friendships, learn new skills and make a positive impact in Palatine and the neighboring communities. The Palatine Jaycees is a nonprofit, not a religiously or politically affiliated organization, welcoming members of the Palatine and surrounding communities.
