Waste diversion programs on tap for Green Drinks Libertyville

Waste diversion is the topic at Green Drinks Libertyville at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Post Time/Cafe Pomigliano Sports Bar and Grille, 13860 Rockland Road, Green Oaks.

Walter Willis, executive director of the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, will give an update on waste diversion programs, the focus on a circular economy and preview of the agency’s five-year plan. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Willis has headed SWALCO since 2007 and oversees its solid waste and resource management programs. He is chairman of the Illinois Food Scrap & Composting Coalition, serves on the board of Illinois Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America, and is an honorary board member of the Product Stewardship Institute.
