Thank you to hospital’s unsung heroes
Prior to the start of the pandemic, my brother suffered a series of debilitating injuries and surgeries that put him in a walker and wheelchair for the rest of his life. He also was diagnosed with cancer during that time. Thankfully after radiation, the cancer went into remission. But the lack of mobility began to take its toll.
He had plaque built up in his aorta as a result of the inactivity and was having it cleaned out when he had a stroke while on the operating table.
With numerous visits to rehab centers, the emergency room and more hospital stays, his condition continued to deteriorate until he passed away on Nov. 11 of last year. All the doctors, nurses and other staff members at Sherman hospital treated him with dignity and respect right up to the end. Their lives as well as ours were turned upside down during the pandemic and beyond, but they continued to do their jobs to the best of their abilities, as they continue to do today.
His wife and son and his family as well as myself would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the doctors and nurses, EMTs and transport services that cared for him for all the time and effort that went into his attempt to recover from all the problems he faced.
You all will be unsung heroes to us as life goes on. He gave it his best shot, and so did all of you in trying to extend his life.
Thank you so much.
