Elgin home is a winner in the Chicago’s Finest Painted Ladies Competition

The Chicago Paint & Coatings Association in Bloomingdale announced the homes recognized for the 2023 “Chicago’s Finest Painted Ladies & Her Court” competition.

This popular project, now in its 38th year, honored a home at 802 Douglas Ave. in Elgin, owned by Heidi Schroder. It was recognized as the “Best Use of Color for a Victorian Home,” professionally painted. The painting contractor was Josh Martin.

The competition is a reflection of the growing number of owners who are using paint and coatings to enhance the curb appeal of their homes.

According to the association’s judging committee: “Based on the wide range of beautiful entries, it underscores the fact that the beauty and craftsmanship of the paint application, and how well it complements the structure of the building is essential to being recognized for their efforts.”
