Calling all soup chefs for Lenten suppers at Shepherd of the Prairie

Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley will begin its weekly Lenten worship and supper at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the fellowship hall, 10805 Main St.

Subsequent dates for the worship and suppers will be 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 28 to March 20, in the fellowship hall.

The evening will begin with a prayer followed by a hearty and warm soup meal. During the meal, participants will sing, read a scripture passage with a brief reflection from Senior Pastor Mark Boster or Pastor Ryan Mackey.

They will share Holy Communion and close the evening with a song and a prayer.

“We look forward to this annual Lenten journey filled with prayer and fellowship,” said Donna Kelly, director of connections ministries. “We invite our participants to sign up to provide soup for the church supper and for setup and cleanup assistance.”
