Highlights from the state cheerleading finals

There was plenty to cheer about (sorry) at the state cheerleading finals over the weekend. Perhaps the biggest winner was South Elgin taking first place in the coed division. Here’s the winning routine, trophy ceremony and team photo.

Multiple talents

This is an interesting tidbit from state cheer. Two Lemont athletes, Avaree Taylor and Ella Phelan, not only won a state title in the medium school competition this weekend, but were also part of Lemont’s state champion softball team last spring.
